PhD student Roberto Gomez leads the desert whiptail field crew at IMRS field station

Roberto led a team of 6 undergraduate students in the remote and rugged West Texas Chihuahuan Desert. The teams sampled sexual and asexual whiptails, their parasites, and microbiome to investigate the roles of host mating system, immunology, and microbiome in mitigating parasite infection.
