Field Station Citizen Science

We are ramping up a new citizen science initiative at Powdermill. One of the joys of working at a field station is the opportunity to engage all ages in authentic research. We are initiating a long-term fishing/mark-recapture program in our ponds. Kids will learn or grow their fishing skills while collecting fish and parasite data. As our open-access data grows, we will be working with school groups to ask their own research questions and share their results with the community.
